So, we all just got back from an exciting few weeks in the USA, where we attended a lot of excellent events, met some excellent people, and started thinking of ideas for some excellent stuff!
We all flew over to San Francisco to attend WWDC, which was an excellent experience; our lab coat pockets are now stuffed with secret technology that we pilfered from the presentations. Sadly, we were unable to score any free iPhone 3GS devices. While we were over there, both Josh Deprez and Paris Buttfield-Addison immediately took advantage of the improved MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, and ordered some to be delivered to our hotel.

We had an excellent time, meeting with the guys from 280 North, Sofa, CloudMade and, of course, lots of Apple people. After the conference, we mostly spent our time hanging out in Cafe Royale, and spent far too much money on the excellent coffee there. The obligatory tourist duties were carried out during the trip, viz. Alcatraz, The Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park, and Burning Fire Spicy Chicken from a Korean restaurant we found near Post and Powell.
We also made a trip down to Mountain View to meet up with the excellent people from Meebo - it’s a wonderful place, with a lot of wonderful people! The string of meetups kept on coming, with a Unity community meetup the very next day.

Another highlight of the trip was our visit to the Tiki Bar, at an undisclosed location deep in the tropical jungle of southern California. After dealing with some business, we immediately got down to the important work: drinking, and taking souvenir photographs of us and the cast of the groundbreaking podcast. Thanks again for having us, Doctor Tiki and The Gypsy!
However, it wasn’t all fun and games. Some serious work got done too: we all went to see Wicked, Moon, Up, and Star Trek. This was all very Serious Business.
And now, most of us are back! Paris has stayed in California for several days worth of more meetings and get-togethers, and we’ll all be back together on the 11th of July, working hard to bring you extra awesome.
Thanks to all of the excellent people we met over there, and we’ll see you again next year!
